Right now I am going to focus on quite time. I have always said, “I want to have a quite time.” I even remember lying once about having one so I could sound like “the perfect Christian.” I got over pretending to be perfect awhile ago thankfully. I know that I am not perfect and I don’t deserve what has been given to me.

So, back to the quite time. I am going to commit myself to a quiet time every morning. Complete silence, just me and God. Listening, Learning, and then Living it out.

To hold myself accountable to this, I have decided to make a rule for myself: No computer (or iPhone) before Bible study PERIOD

This is radical for me, because I am addicted to the Internet, and if you are reading this, chances are, so are you. It is amazing how I never go one day without making time to check my email, Facebook, Myspace, and 103 blogs that I read every day. But I often go days without making time for the one who created me and gave me everything I have. It is for no other reason that I have been put on this earth other than to glorify Him.

I will probably need to ask myself over and over again: What is more important to me than spending time with God? What do I need to do to fix those priorities?

So… I am going to need your help. I need everyone out there to help keep me accountable. Please? Just a casual “how’s your quiet time goin,” can go a whole long way.

  Right now I am working on plans for camping out in line for the new iPhone. I have two other friends camping with me Britt and Jefte (and possibly Reggie) Jefte is just going to stand in line for Garrett because he will be on vacation with his family the same day the iPhone releases.  I don’t think they are as excited about it as I am though. My plan is to be the very first in line at the temple store.

Today I called the Temple AT&T store and asked a few questions. I was told that last year when the first iPhone was released they had people start camping out almost three days before the release. Also, I got confirmation that they would be selling the iPhone, just to be safe.

Here are some supplies I have came up with so far:

• Laptop (duh)
• Tent
• Air mattress
• Tons of snack foods
• Extension cords
• Drink items
• Credit card (can’t forget that)
• Video camera and digital camera

I would like to make a video of this, and even try to get press coverage. To me it would be really REALLY cool to be the first one to buy the iPhone here.

We will keep someone there at all times while others leave to get food or take showers, we want to stay fresh for our media coverage! (and I don’t like being nasty)

I feel pretty good now about selling my original iPhone a couple of months ago. This is because I received 350 for selling the originals, and now the new iPhone is just 199. I am sure the the original iPhone’s resale value has now dropped considerably. So now, when people ask me why I sold my iPhone, I have a good reason to tell them.

If you can’t tell I am really excited. There will be more on this coming soon as more detailed plans develop. I plan to blog my way though this, why would I camp in the middle of town and not want to share it with all of my blog friends

It is time for it to be over yet? I really can not wait for this year to be over! Are we there yet?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I am so excited for this summer!

Mississippi, Florida, and Colorado! I can’t wait! This is going to be a really fun summer!

Hooray! Just went clothes shopping online! I got some crazy deals. I normally have a thing against name brands, just because I don’t feel that a little logo should make the item cost 20-50 dollars more than buying the “off brand” item. But, today I found some crazy deals online.

After church today I was sitting around being lazy, and I started thinking that I need some new jeans. So I start looking around. I wanted to set up a comparison of prices, so I started at a “name brand” clothing store online. At first I was just playing around, wanting to see how much it would cost there compared to lets say Wal-Mart. At first it was quite a bit more expensive. Then I found the clearance section. Which showed price drops of 5-25 dollars of the original price. It was still a little pricey for my tastes though.

But then, I happened to see a little box for a discount code. Naturally, being the Internet savvy person that I am, I “googled” “discount code + (the site I was it)” and I found a working code that gave me 20% off my entire order + free shipping!

That is pretty amazing in my book. I like to save money. I ended up buying more than I had originally planned, but, at close to what would have been the price on only the pair of jeans at the web site pre clearance and discount. I don’t know if you really care, but I had not posted a blog in awhile, and I thought this was a little bit interesting.

I realize that this post sounds a kind of like a long rant, and I randomly chose where to put the line breaks, but I don’t care and am posting it anyway!

What does worship mean to you?

Here are some things I’ve come up with, what do you think?

(by I, I mean things I have heard from those who I have been around ex. worship leader, friends, and pastors)

• Worship is recognizing who God is, and thanking him for what he has done
• It is an attempt to give Him the honor he deserves.
• Corporate worship is joining together with other believers and acknowledging the Lord and what he has done.
• Worship takes on many different forms. It is not limited to singing or lifting up of our hands. It can be sharing what God has been doing to encourage another believer etc.
• Worship is not a feeling. It is an attitude, but it is a learned attitude. There will be times that we should worship in which we don’t feel like doing so.
• It is not a time to bring attention to ourselves.
• John 4 - “God is spirit and his worshipers must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
• It is not enough to worship God on the outside. Our attitude must be right.
• Worshiping in truth is being honest when we worship. We are not just acting or doing things to please people.
• Our actions should be an accurate reflection of our heart.

If you don’t truly believe what you are singing or saying when you worship, it’s basically the same as closing you eyes and lying to God with all your heart!

So, what is orenteering? Well, Wikipedia is going to help us a little bit here:

Orienteering is a running sport involving navigation with a map and compass. The traditional form (sometimes referred to as “Foot Orienteering” or “Foot-O”) involves cross-country running, though other forms have evolved. The competition is a timed race in which individual participants use a special purpose map and a magnetic compass to navigate through diverse terrain (often wooded) and visit, in sequence, control points that are indicated on the map. The course of control points is kept secret from the competitors, until the start, when they are provided with a detailed topographic map on which the course is marked. Competitors start at staggered intervals, are individually timed, and are expected to perform all navigation skills on their own. Standings are determined first by successful completion of the course, then by shortest time on course. Rules and principles of the sport are defined by the International Orienteering Federation.

So I am leaving my house at like 5 o’clock in the morning to drive to Bastrop where I will go though a short training session, then spend the rest of the afternoon participating in a race against 15 of my friends from my venturing crew (the website is in progress, I should be working on it, but I am lazy)

It is going to be a really fun day!

French student Theo Sarjison, who speaks the most functional English, said his first shock was the weather.

“The weather is gorgeous. It was 11 degrees (Celsius) when we left, and here it’s 30 degrees,” Sarjison said. “In class here, you can do what you want. You can play with a cell phone, you can play games.”

So, what does this mean? No more calculators at school because they could have games one them. I think it is pretty funny. Telling us not to bring calculators to school, after you have us go out and buy them. Hmmmmm…. It’s just funny. I don’t think it will last though.

Jesus is the light of the world. Wherever and whenever he show up in a place, things happen and things change. Just as Jesus came and shine his light in a dark world, shouldn’t we be doing the same? We should be light affecting darkness. But I find that our light is not shining. We are finding that darkness is affecting light. It seem our light shine brightly in the church but when Monday comes we simply take out the light. We are not affecting darkness. Our friends can’t see our light. Our Schools mates can’t see our light. Our family can’t see our light. They don’t see the difference in you. People ought to see something different about you because you don’t live the way they do. You don’t talk like they do. You don’t behave like they do. You are the light of the world. Whenever you show up, people ought to change their conversations. They ought to change their behavior. Keep shining your light. Don’t let your light go out. Let people see there is something different about yo! u. Let’s be real Christian instead of fake Christian. Don’t take out the light. Don’t hide your light. Let your light affect darkness.
